Input can be JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF or HEIC. Output is JPG, WebP or PNG — the three formats worth targeting. JPG is what upload forms and other people's software expect. WebP is what you want on your own website, being roughly a third smaller for the same apparent quality. PNG is for images that need to stay pixel-exact or carry transparency.

The part that makes this unusual is where the work happens. Conventional converters upload your file to a server, process it there, and let you download the result — which means your photographs sit on someone else's machine, subject to their retention policy. Here the conversion runs inside your browser using the image encoder already built into it. Nothing is transmitted, which is why it keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.

Is there a file size or quantity limit?
No server-imposed limit, because there is no server. The practical ceiling is your own device's memory — a desktop handles very large batches comfortably, an older phone rather fewer.
Do I need an account, and is there a watermark?
Neither. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing is added to your images. The site is free and supported by advertising alongside the tool.
How can conversion work without uploading?
Browsers include a full image decoder and encoder for rendering pages. This tool uses those directly, in a background thread, so your file never leaves the tab it was opened in.
